Job Description

As a Project Transportation Planner, your work extends beyond individual tasks. At the project level, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation and its impact on communities. You’ll contribute to long-term transportation strategies, considering factors like population growth, economic development, and environmental sustainability. Collaborating with stakeholders, you’ll align transportation plans with broader community goals. Your projects will integrate various modes of transportation, connecting neighborhoods and enhancing accessibility. Additionally, you’ll influence policy decisions, engage with residents, evaluate environmental impacts, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Ultimately, your efforts directly enhance the quality of life in communities, making this role both rewarding and impactful!

The ideal candidate for this role is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong communication skills. You’ll be comfortable interacting with clients and presenting to groups of all sizes. Additionally, adaptability and a collaborative mindset are crucial. We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Chandler, AZ or Phoenix, AZ office location.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Proven technical writing ability.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, geography, or other related field.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in the planning industry.

  • Certified Planner (AICP) preferred, or desire to attain AICP certification.

  • Familiarity with transportation, public transportation, geography, urban planning, and land use issues.

  • Proficiency in several computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database software.

  • Experience in ArcGIS or ArcPro.
